Prediction Time: CFL.ca writers' Mobil Thanksgiving Weekend picks

Paul Swanson/CFL.ca
TORONTO -- A new front-runner has emerged.
After going 4-0 in Week 18, Vicki Hall has jumped to the front of the pack, tying Jamie Nye for first place in the CFL.ca writer standings.
Does Vicki have another perfect week in store? Or will someone else challenge them for the top spot?
Let's find out who the writers are picking on Mobil Thanksgiving Weekend.

EDMONTON AT HAMILTON
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9 7:00 P.M. ET TSN, RDS2, CFL+
The Edmonton Elks are returning from a Week 18 bye and they head to Hamilton to take on the Ticats. The last time these two teams met was just two weeks ago when they needed overtime to decide the winner. Edmonton won in a two-point convert shootout, but will they defeat Hamilton once again? The Ticats are eliminated from the postseason, while the Elks are searching to clinch the division with a win and a BC loss later on Friday night. All of the writers are rolling with the visitors to get the two points.
WRITERS' PICK: 100% EDMONTON
OTTAWA AT BC
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9 10:00 P.M. ET TSN, CFL+
BC is the hottest team in the CFL right now, winning eight of their last nine contests. Nathan Rourke and the offence failed to score a touchdown against the Argos last week, but kicker Sean Whyte played the hero, booting eight-straight field goals on their way to victory. Ottawa is still searching for win No. 1 as they head to Vancouver to take on the Lions, who will clinch a playoff spot with a win. Will this be the week that the REDBLACKS get their first victory of the season? None of the CFL.ca writers think so.
WRITERS' PICK: 100% BC
CALGARY AT WINNIPEG
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10 7:00 P.M. ET TSN, CFL+
This could be the biggest game of the week with the Stampeders and Blue Bombers meeting on Saturday night. The Stamps are just two points ahead of the Bombers in the West Division, as Calgary currently sits in the crossover spot. The Bombers are coming off a loss to the Montreal Alouettes while Calgary defeated the Saskatchewan Roughriders. All the Stampeders have to do is win and they clinch a playoff spot. Who will come out on top of this massive tilt in Winnipeg? The writers are undecided.
WRITERS' PICK: 60% CALGARY
SASKATCHEWAN AT MONTREAL
MONDAY, OCTOBER 12 1:00 P.M. ET TSN, RDS, CBSSN, CFL+
The 112th Grey Cup rematch is finally here with the Montreal Alouettes and Saskatchewan Roughriders meeting on Thanksgiving Monday. The Riders have lost three games in a row as they are still trying to keep pace in the logjam that is the West Division. Montreal, on the other hand, secured first in the East last week with their win over Winnipeg and now set their sights on finishing their regular season home record undefeated. Everyone but Matt thinks that the Als will end 2026 8-0 at home.
