Rourke, Lions needed to 'get on the same page' in second half of Western Semi-Final presented by Wegovy®

VANCOUVER -- It was the tale of two halves for the BC Lions' offence in the Western Semi-Final presented by Wegovy®.
Other than a 69-yard touchdown pass to a wide-open Stanley Berryhill III, Nathan Rourke and his offence had a quiet first half. The Saskatchewan defence was able to keep Rourke and co. at bay in the first two quarters.
But then halftime adjustments and a pep talk by committee in the locker room, according to the Lions quarterback, turned the tide.
"I think it was a bit of a slow start," Rourke said post-game following his team's win. "Credit where credit is due. They had a good plan for us to start. We needed to talk some things over, get on the same page, but it was good to bounce back the way we did in the third quarter and be able to finish the game."
Coming out of halftime, the Lions were trailing 17-13. Rourke connected with Jevon Cottoy on their first drive of the second half for a 70-yard catch-and-run score. The pair linked up again late in the third quarter for another touchdown to give their team its first lead of the day, one that they wouldn't give up to the end of the contest.
In all, the Leos scored 20 points in the second half en route to their 33-26 victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Now Rourke and the Lions look ahead to the Western Final presented by Wegovy® where they will take on the Edmonton Elks next Saturday, November 7.
