Working is one of the last things most want to do on OK Tire Labour Day Weekend.

That includes seeking gems for their CFL Weekly Fantasy teams for Week 14.

Worry not. That’s what we’re here for. We’re restless and love what we do, so just relax and let us introduce you to this week’s quartet of fantasy sleepers.

T.J. LUTHER | RECEIVER | EDMONTON ELKS

Let’s start with one of the participants in Monday’s Battle of Alberta, as T.J. Luther has remained under the radar throughout the season despite ranking among the league’s top 20 in receiving yardage (649). Austin Mack has established himself as the Elks’ REC1, yet Luther has strung together his share of solid fantasy outings, with his 15.5 Fantasy Point performance in Week 12 his eighth game of double-digit fantasy production.

With Edmonton facing a Stampeders defence allowing a league-leading 23 passing majors, an Elks stack of Luther and Mack is a solid play. Even if you defer from Mack, Luther’s $5,500 salary is still a heck of a bargain to earn him a roster spot at either receiver or FLEX, giving fantasy users the flexibility to spend more on other positions.

SHEMAR BRIDGES | RECEIVER | SASKATCHEWAN

The Riders’ ever-expanding list of pass-catchers joining the Injured List led them to sign Shemar Bridges, who made his Saskatchewan debut in Week 13 with two catches for 11 yards on five targets. Another week of immersing himself in the Roughriders' playbook will enhance the value of Bridges, who had spent the previous two seasons in Hamilton.

Keep in mind that Bridges is also two campaigns removed from an impressive rookie debut that saw him catch 83 passes for 933 yards and four touchdowns for the Ticats. The talent is obviously there, and as Saskatchewan waits for its regular receivers to return, Bridges will continue to build a rapport with Trevor Harris that makes his $5,400 fantasy salary an intriguing play with considerable upside over the immediate future.

JAKE HERSLOW | RECEIVER | TORONTO ARGONAUTS

Fantasy users were basking in the glow of the Summer of Herslow around this time last year as the then-rookie was in the midst of a stretch where he scored touchdowns in six straight games (Weeks 10-13, 15-16). Injuries kept him sidelined until Week 11 this season, and in three games since returning, he's caught seven passes for 112 yards.

What brings him here is the rising trend of targets Jake Herslow has accumulated, going from two in each of his first two games to seven in Week 13. He’s got most (if not all) of the rust off, so the potential for Herslow to rise to the Argos’ REC2 behind Damonte Coxie is strong. Defences will be hard-pressed to cover both deep threats, which makes Herslow a high-reward fantasy play despite his $9,100 weekly salary.

TOMMY NIELD | RECEIVER | WINNIPEG BLUE BOMBERS

After scoring 18.1 Fantasy Points in Week 2, Tommy Nield has become something of a fantasy ghost, failing to score double digits until coming out of fantasy hiding with 11.2 FP in the Blue Bombers win over the Alouettes in Week 13. Winnipeg’s passing production, seventh in the league with 268.9 yards per game, is obviously going to hinge on the consistency of Zach Collaros, but if Collaros can maintain numbers close to what he delivered in Week 13, Nield could see a fantasy revival.

Saskatchewan has allowed 320.5 passing yards per game (eighth in the league), so the ground is fertile for Winnipeg’s receivers to thrive on Sunday Night Football. If your fantasy salary is tight and you have the last opening at either receiver or FLEX, keep Nield and his $6,200 salary in mind.
